Arrived by train from Hong Kong today lovely journey. It is a is culture shock to visit a city of 10 million people. Very busy, very crowded and very vibrant, we are staying in Shamian a man made island developed historically by the British and French by digging a canal diverting water from the Pearl river to make the island.
